Campus Recreation and Intramurals helps student organizations operate as teams for casual or competitive play through Club Sports. Find your team and play your game together.

Lead in Club Sports

Represent your club as part of The Club Sports Council. Meet with other Club Sports representatives to share ideas, learn new ways to improve your leadership and management skills and create opportunities for your team to soar.

Want to find more opportunities to build your responsibilities? Submit your candidacy for the Club Sports Advisory Council, a select group of five Club Sports members. The Club Sports Advisory Council reviews and recommends new organizations to join Club Sports. You can change the game!

FAQs

Intercollegiate Athletics are for student athletics recruited by Georgia Southern to play specific sports with potential scholarship funding. Club Sports consists of student organizations recognized by the Office of Student Activities with partial funding from the Student Activity Budget Committee. Club Sports are open to all eligible students, whether you’re looking for a pastime or want to compete!

Intramural Sports are short-term leagues, tournaments and events that occur regularly throughout the academic year and are open for students, faculty and staff to play as they choose. In Club Sports, players join a team for the entire academic year with a stronger commitment to their team.

Clubs in Club Sports are student organizations run by student officers, often with the help of paid or volunteer coaches and oversight from CRI’s Sports Program. Club Sports officers are responsible for scheduling, fundraising, hosting events, policy adherence, communications and other aspects to manage their Club Sports team.

Most clubs in Club Sports practice two to three times per week and compete each weekend while in season. The schedule of practices and games is determined by each club.

While membership dues vary between each club in Club Sports, all participants in Club Sports have to pay a Club Sports administrative fee. The Student Activity Budget Committee provides an annual allocation for Club Sports teams, but a club may explore other fundraising opportunities.

Of course you can! Skill and experience are not a barrier for most teams in Club Sports, but some teams may have limited space or limited time for new members. Some teams may also have tryouts.
